I needed access to a huge bundle of files for a meeting with several people completing some projects and it was much simpler to use box.net than try and set up folders and upload files to our VLE. Being government agency-type contract documentation I had to collect umpteen forms from each person as well as the output itself! By giving access to certain folders to each person they were able to store what I needed in the right place. Later in the day I included the folders in a panel on a web page in Pageflakes. Here's one view of the panel which gave me quick access to a few documents (and lots more in the higher folders).

Students use box.net too when they mislay their USB sticks and it's remarkable how few "Sorry, Sir, I've left it at home" excuses I get these days!
Nothing spectacular here - just simple but useful stuff.
Whilst the Box.net people are now charging for various versions of their product, I am pleased to see that I don't have to delete this after all. There is a Lite version which is still free and seems to have the main features that I found so useful when that was all they offered.
