The web developer toolbar is a vital tool for anyone teaching web design. IE's version may suit the more advanced but this is ideal for a whole host of information displays such as the options for Images shown below:

Some of the skins available for Firefox are quite stunning and can transform the surfing experience. OK, I know, that's not really much to do with teaching and learning . . . 

Foxmarks is a brilliant synchronisation tool - another add-on. With this you can keep the same set of bookmarks on whichever computers you regularly use. Some of the other bookmarking tools may suffice for your purposes but with lots needed while I was putting these sites together, Foxmarks was easily the simplest system for my requirements. Here's an exampleof how it helped me out of a tight spot.
