A project management tool
I'm using this with some Foundation Degree students. So far, although the interface isn't as clear or easy to understand as it might be, it has proved a useful tool for getting them to plan things and collaborate on a group project assignment. The fact that I get automatic notifications of activity is useful and sending a quick message to some or all participants is easy. Beats MS Project hands down for access anytime anywhere.
Turn spreadsheets or database files into structures that work on the web too.
Here's an example on another of my wikis
I hadn't realised until now that you can also make web forms and do data collection really easily, with no server side stuff. This is superb, just what the doctor ordered. I may be able to add an example below but even if I fail here there's one on a spare page of the webtools site you can check out.
